Privacy Policy
This English version is provided for reference purposes only. The Japanese version of this Policy shall prevail in all respects.
1. Basic Policy
A-Soft (“we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of users of its iOS applications and official website. Our apps are designed so that data created by users is never sent to our servers.
2. Information Handling in Applications
The applications provided by us are not designed to collect or store personally identifiable information. Data you enter or create in the apps (such as notes, images or calculation data) is stored only on your device, and we neither obtain nor view it.
However, services provided by Apple, such as iCloud features or system crash reports, may transmit certain information based on the user’s device settings. Such information is managed in accordance with Apple’s privacy policy.
2-1. Location
In some apps (such as the note app A-Note), you can attach your current location to the data you create. Location data obtained this way is stored on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party. You can change or revoke the location permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
2-2. Photos and Camera
In apps that support attaching photos, images you select or take are copied into the app and stored there. Images are never sent to our servers. Access to the photo library and the camera can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.
2-3. Exchanging Data Between Apps on the Same Device
Some of our apps can exchange data with our other apps through a shared area on the same device, and only when you perform the corresponding operation. Such an exchange is completed on the device and does not go over a network.
2-4. Backup and Export Files
Backup and export files created by an app are saved to the destination you choose (the Files app, iCloud Drive, an email recipient and so on). Unless expressly stated otherwise, these files are not encrypted, and managing where they are stored and with whom they are shared is up to you.
3. Communication from the Apps and Server Access Logs
Our apps may connect to our server (www.a-soft.info) to retrieve announcements and the list of our other apps. Such communication never transmits the data stored in the app, including notes and other entered content, images and location data.
As with any ordinary web server, connections are recorded in access logs containing the IP address, user agent, date and time, and the name of the file retrieved. We use these logs to investigate problems and to understand general usage, and not to identify individuals.
4. Information Received Through Inquiries
When you use the inquiry feature in an app, your mail app opens with the device model, OS version and app version filled into the message. A diagnostic log may also be attached in order to investigate a problem. Such a log contains records of operations, numbers of items processed and file names, but it does not contain note text or images themselves. You can review the message before sending it, and you may remove the attachment.
The email address and content we receive through an inquiry are used only to reply to you and to investigate the problem.
5. In-App Advertising
Some of our apps use the advertising SDK of a third-party ad provider, "Ad Generation" by Supership Inc., to display ads. In the course of ad delivery, the advertising identifier (only if you have allowed tracking) and certain device information may be transmitted to the provider. For details, please refer to the privacy policy of Supership Inc. (Japanese).
In some apps, a dialog asking for permission to track may appear (for example, on first launch) under Apple's AppTrackingTransparency (ATT) framework. Even if you do not allow tracking, ads are still displayed, but the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not used for ad delivery and only non-personalized ads are served. You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
In apps where you have purchased the ad-removal in-app purchase, no ads are displayed and the advertising SDK transmits no information.
6. In-App Purchases
In-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store. We never receive payment information such as your name, address or credit card number. Whether a purchase has been made is determined on the device, based on the purchase information provided by Apple.
7. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not provide information about users to third parties, except as described in this Policy or as required by law.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our apps are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Official Website
This website uses Google Analytics for access analysis purposes. The collected data is anonymous and does not identify individual users.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may change the contents of this Policy. If we do, we will post the updated Policy on this page and update the last-updated date shown below.
11. Contact
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us at staff@a-soft.info.
