G-Chord
Guitar Chord Book
A major update is on the way
The G-Chord you already have will evolve in place. There is no new app to buy — just update, and your existing data and settings carry over.
A guitar chord book designed for beginners
The iOS version was released about one year after the Android version.
Because the iPhone had sufficient storage capacity, the app uses recorded digital guitar sounds instead of MIDI.
The response from pressing a button to hearing the sound is very fast, allowing you to enjoy playing chord progressions with minimal delay.
An Android version was available in the past, but currently only the iOS version is provided. A web version has also been considered, although there is no specific schedule yet.
If you find any issues, please send a screenshot using the in-app contact feature.

What’s new compared with the previous version
Main features coming in the major update to the G-Chord you already have.
- Switch between acoustic and electric guitar within a single app (bringing G-Chord Pro and E-Chord together)
- Capo positions 1–9 are now supported
- Tune each string freely, or pick a preset such as Drop D or the open tunings
- Choose a display level: beginner, standard, advanced or everything
- “Simple” and “Full” in settings switch the degree panel, the mode buttons and the full-neck view all at once
- Save a shape you played under a name of your choice as your own form
- Memos from G-Chord, G-Chord Pro and E-Chord all carry over
- Tap the large fretboard to select and play the shape closest to that note
- Pick the body colour for electric guitar from five options
- See the intervals of the notes you are playing as a bar chart
- Paste a chord chart with lyrics just as it is; the lyrics are skipped and only the chords are recognised
- Import has its own screen so you can check the result before saving, and the text you pasted stays with the page so you can reopen it later
- Save your memos to the A-Note notes app and restore them whenever you need
- The “?” button on each screen explains what the buttons there do
- The interface is now available in 14 languages, up from Japanese and English only
- If you already purchased the paid features in the previous series, Pro stays unlocked
